2019 Annual Report

Thank you for you for continuing to support MakerGirl and helping us reach our ambitious goal of educating 10,000 girls by 2023. 2019 was quite the year for our organization and we found a lot of success in reaching more participants across the country by continuing to grow to new universities. Last January we started with three Academies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Northwestern University and Boston with students from Harvard, MIT and Hult. We continued to expand hosting sessions at the University of California San Francisco and George Fox University. In addition to these sessions this summer, we held our third #MakerGirlGoesMobile (#MGGM) road trip that headed to the East Coast. Through our sessions at Academies and #MGGM we educated nearly 1,000 girls this past year. 

We could not do this without the help of our supporters and partners. We have big goals for 2020! We are opening two new Academies this winter at the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Michigan; thanks to generous support from EOS North America we will be able to offer our sessions year round in Austin, TX and Ann Arbor, MI areas. This summer we will be heading to the 11 states for our fourth #MGGM road trip. We will be visiting Chicago, Memphis, Atlanta, Houston, and more! We will also be opening two additional academies this fall.

Our participants are girls that live and dream as unstoppable forces that say “Yes!” to the challenges of the future. So, thank you for an amazing year and please continue to join myself and the MakerGirl team in creating the next generation of Today’s Makers. Tomorrow’s Life Changers!
