Level 1 Workshop Themes!

Get ready for a STEM-filled adventure!

MakerGirl has thoughtfully designed four exciting session themes that we’ll be offering during our Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 workshops. Each theme is packed with creativity, hands-on learning, and fun challenges that help girls explore the world of 3D printing and design.

Take a look below and see where your imagination will take you!

Under the Sea

Dive into the ocean with MakerGirl! In this "Under the Sea" themed session, girls will explore how 3D printing and CAD design can help protect marine life and build artificial reef structures. They'll play fun games like Fact or Fiction, learn about water currents, and bring their ocean-themed ideas to life in Tinkercad. We’ll wrap up with show and tell and spotlight amazing women in STEM like Rear Admiral Evelyn J. Fields!

Animals

Explore the wild side of STEM in our Animals themed session! From learning how 3D printing has helped animals with printed prosthetic legs and beaks, to creating their own animal in Tinkercad, kids discover how technology can change lives. They engage with each other and make their design come alive! Plus, kids will have a blast playing Fact or Fiction and learning about inspiring women in STEM like Beatrice Alice Hicks!

Outerspace

Blast off into the stars in our Space themed session! Kids will explore how astronauts use 3D printing to make their own tools and parts right on the spaceship! They’ll also learn how astronauts 3D print their own food using special food filaments! With Tinkercad, they will design their own space-themed creations and play Fact or Fiction. We will also shine on Katherine Johnson Coleman, whose sent astronauts to the moon!

Architecture

Build big ideas in our Architecture themed session! Students will discover how architects use 3D printing to bring buildings to life with unique designs and structures! They’ll create their own dream structures in Tinkercad and learn how digital design helps shape real cities. We'll also play Fact or Fiction to test what they’ve learned and celebrate women in STEM like Maya Lin, known for making the Vietnam Veterans Memorial!

Here are a few images showcasing our Under the Sea session! The students had an amazing time playing Fact or Fiction, drawing their designs on the MakerGirl STEM Worksheet, building their own sea animals in Tinkercad, and diving into STEM learning. All amazing designs were 3D printed and shipped to their houses! It was a session full of exploration and smiles! 😊
