Our Partnerships
MakerGirl and EOS have been partnered since 2019. The funding from EOS will be invested in supporting MakerGirl’s Academies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Illinois Wesleyan University, and MakerGirl’s virtual academy with a focus on education. Their investment in MakerGirl will advance the MakerGirl Academies and allow EOS employees to volunteer with the workshop process--from recruiting university and high school ChangeMakers to sharing their knowledge during the 3D printing sessions.
The Pflugerville Public Library serves their community in Pflugerville, Texas! MakerGirl has been hosting sessions with the Pflugerville Public Library since 2019. Our current programs with Pflugerville Public Library are hosted virtually and led by our volunteer ChangeMakers!
“EOS supports teaching the problem-solving skills and creative process that goes into thinking, designing, and making in 3D. MakerGirl programming, led by the ChangeMakers teaches the students to use computer design software and through this how to think and create in three dimensions. Being able to use design software is going to be one of those vital skills for this generation and in this program, students are getting that. MakerGirls are taught how to take an idea from a dream, to digital to their desks. Learning how to make their ideas come into the physical world, that’s what MakerGirl gives their attendees. EOS is all in for that!”
“The Pflugerville Library is excited to have the opportunity to collaborate with MakerGirl to introduce tweens to 3D printing in the Pflugerville-Austin area! We love providing technical expertise and education to our community. MakerGirl’s and the library’s mission come together with this partnership almost every other week during the school year with the support of EOS, the leading technology provider worldwide of industrial 3D printing of metals and plastics. ”
“My daughter, Abilene, was excited to hear about MakerGirl (her older brother always gets to do the cool things). And then after she already told me she wanted to go, I told her it was Barbie, and she jumped up and down with excitement. It’ll be fun. I’m a civil engineer, and a maker at heart. I hope MakerGirl ignites a fire in her.”
